Game reviews and twenty three skiddoos.

So I bought Mass Effect 2 on the 24th of January of whenever it was, but regardless I had pre-ordered it. Gave me some extra content that I never used, the Inferno Armor. It was ugly, and the stats it gave weren't game effecting in any way. Probably just a ploy to get suckers to buy it. Reason being I bought it early was just so I could pre-load that sucker and play it when it was unlocked on Steam. I digress, so I played the hell out of this game. Its pretty good. Overall its chocked full of improvements over the first. The inventory was revamped, combat spiced up. They added in ammunition. I don't mind the gameplay alteration but I would like to know why they put it in, especially since they had a really cool explanation in the first why those heat-sink clips were needed to begin with. The only thing I wish the game had was actual suits of armor you could buy for either yourself or your team mates. All you get to work with is turning your standard N7 outfit into piecemeal as you find upgrades for it, though I must say that one piece isn't better than another, the armor itself is constantly being changed around (at least I did) between missions depending on what you're fighting. The story was good, it ended on a really empty note though, for me, especially because of how I ended it. I won't say much for spoiler alert and whatnot but there wasn't much closure. They're leaving it open to be wrapped up in the third. Also, I managed to get through the finale without anybody kicking the bucket so I think that's pretty cool, especially since they all might make it into the third game. Overall, I say buy it if you want a game you can invest time in, otherwise skip it. I'm definitely expecting DLC for this game on the sole ground that in the key configurations it has vehicle controls, but you don't get to pilot anything. I hate DLC.

Bought the total X-Com pack on steam for two bucks, I suggest people snag that before the price changes. Those games might be old but they're good. Next review is either Aliens Versus Predator or STALKER: Call of Pripyat.

First Post.

I just want to formally introduce myself. My name is Dennie "Like the Restaurant" Thomas, I hail from Boone, North Carolina and I am personal friends with the Dangereviews staff. I am a computer gamer, so that probably puts me in a bit of what console gamers would consider to be an elitist mindset, but I don't care.

I've been playing games for a long time, with my favorite game overall probably being Fallout (1997) for the PC, which I had found in 2001 in that dual box-set with both of the first two games in it. I don't much care for the sequel and am apart of the old Fallout community, which again puts me in a minority of the gaming world.

I play strategy games and shooters, with some role-playing-games, and a few platformers. I might have a few game reviews of my own later on.

I've decided to go with an old-school format for my blog because I think the green on black might be a bit easier on the eyes, although the font might not be, but once again, I don't care. My posts will be infrequent and will often contain nothing of value, but I'll do what I do and hopefully that will be enough.

That's all for now, more to come.
